Registration Now Open for the 3rd Canada Seniors “Sunny Cup” Table Tennis Tournament

To enrich the healthy lifestyles of seniors and to invigorate their table tennis activities, the 3rd Canada Seniors “Sunny Cup” Table Tennis Tournament will be held in October 2024. Please see the details below:

1. Organizer: Canada Sunny International Table Tennis Association
2. Project Funding: Ontario Seniors Community Grant
3. Eligibility:

• Anyone aged 55 or older residing in Canada who loves table tennis (both male and female) is eligible to participate.
• Participation is based on personal willingness and family support. A “Voluntary Participation Liability Waiver” must be submitted with the registration.

4. Competition Format:

• Events: Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Mixed Doubles.
• The first round will be a group round-robin, each group has 4 players. The second round will be a knockout to determine the top four players. All matches will be played in a first to 2 wins out of 3 games format, with each game up to 11 points.
• The tournament will use Butterfly 40+ white international competition balls.
• The competition will follow Table Tennis Canada’s rules.

5. Schedule:

• Women’s Singles: October 11, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM
• Men’s Singles: October 12, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM
• Mixed Doubles: October 13, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM

6. Venue:

Canada Sunny International Table Tennis Club

7. Registration:

• Registration fee: Free for those aged 65 and up, $10 per person for those under 65.
• Each singles event is limited to 16 players; each doubles event is limited to 8 pairs. Registration will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached
• Registration opens from now until September 20, 2024.

8. Awards:

• Each event will have awards for the First Place, Second Place, Third Place, and Fourth Place, as well as several commemorative prizes.
  • First Place: $150 prize money and medal
  • Second Place: $100 prize money and medal
  • Third Place: $60 prize money and medal
  • Fourth Place: $30 prize money and medal
  • Fifth to Eighth Places: Gift card sponsored by Sunny Table Tennis Club (value $15)

9. Referees: The referee will be appointed by the organizing committee.
10. Interpretation: The Canada Sunny International Table Tennis Association reserves the right to interpret the tournament rules.

为丰富长者的健康生活，活跃长者乒乓球活动，第三届加拿大长者“阳光杯”乒乓球赛将于2024年10月举行。现将有关事项通知如下：

一、主办单位

加拿大阳光国际乒乓球协会

二、项目资助

安省政府 “Seniors Community Grant”

三、参赛资格

1、凡加拿大境内55周岁以上，热爱乒乓球的球友（男女不限）均可参加比赛。

2、参加比赛以本人自愿、亲属支持为原则。报名时，须附《自愿参赛责任书》。

四、比赛方法

1、男子单打、女子单打、混双。

2、比赛第一轮为分组循环赛，抽签分组，每组4人。第二轮为淘汰赛，决出前四名。所有比赛均采用3局2胜11分制。

3、比赛使用蝴蝶 40+白色国际比赛用球。

4、比赛参照执行加拿大乒协审订《乒乓球竞赛规则》中的相关规则。

五、比赛时间

女子单打：2024年10月11日，上午9:00—11:30

男子单打：2024年10月12日，上午9:00—11:30

混合双打：2024年10月13日，上午9:00—11:30

Eligibility: The Housel League is open to all members of the Sunny Club. To provide more learning opportunities for members, non-members are also welcome to participate.

Team Composition: No points limit, teams can be freely formed. All registered teams will be divided into groups of four for a group round-robin to determine group A or B. The top two teams advance to Group A, and the rest two teams advance to Group B. Each team must consist of 3 to 5 players.

Format:

• Determine your group stage: The first and second matches are singles, the third and fourth matches are doubles, and the fifth match is a best-of-seven tiebreaker. Any player can play a maximum of 2 matches, but not in both singles matches. Winning three matches determines the winner and ends the contest. Matches are best of three games.
• Round-robin stage: The first and second matches are singles, the third and fourth matches are doubles, and the fifth to seventh matches are singles. Each contest will play all seven matches. Each night, a team can have 3-5 players participate in the matches. Any player can play a maximum of 3 matches per night: either 2 singles and 1 doubles, or 2 doubles and 1 singles. The same doubles pair cannot play together in both doubles matches. Substitutes are not allowed.
• Knockout stage: The first and the second matches are singles, the third and the fourth matches are doubles, and the fifth to the seventh are singles. The winner is determined by winning four matches, and the game ends at that point.

The first match will start at 7:00 PM. Only one player may arrive later than 7:00 PM but no later than 8:30 PM. The match order during the round-robin stage can be adjusted. Each team will team only one round-robin cycle. The top eight teams will then compete in a knockout format to determine the top four.

In each match, the winning team scores two points, the losing team scores one point, and the team that is absentee/disqualified scores zero points. All matches are best of 5 games, with each game played to 11 points. ITTF rules and regulations apply.

Butterfly R40+(white) international competition standard table tennis balls will be used in this event, provided by the Club.

The organizing committee will have the final interpretation rights.

Prizes and Awards: The top eight teams in each group will receive the following prizes.

During the round-robin stage:

• 1st place – $350, 2nd place – $250, 3rd place – $150, 4th place – $100, 5th-6th place: Butterfly balls (6 per box), 7th-8th place: Butterfly balls (3 per box)

During the knockout stage:

• 1st place – $250 and a medal for each player, 2nd place – $150 and a medal for each player, 3rd place – $120 and a medal for each player, 4th place – $80 and a medal for each player, 5th-6th place: Butterfly balls (6 per box), 7th-8th place: Butterfly balls (3 per box).

Competition Schedule: On July 4, 2024, all registered teams will participate in the group stage to determine Group A and Group B. Group A will start the round-robin matches on July 11, and Group B will start on July 9.

DIV A: Thursday 7:00-10:00 PM

DIV B: Tuesday 7:00-10:00 PM

Registration Fees:  The first three players: $60 each, Fourth and fifth players: $50 (Participants aged 60 and above can register for free, with the fees covered by the Canada Sunny International Table Tennis Association the Ontario Government Grant.)

Entry Fee: Members: Free, Non-members: $6.00 per entry or Ten times entry card: $50.00 (to be used during the house league period). Special discounts are available for those who join as members during the house league. For details, please refer to the membership guidelines.

Deadline: Please ensure that the signed registration form and full payment are received by Sunday, June 30, 2024, before 9:00 PM.

资格：内部联赛对阳光俱乐部所有会员开放。为了给会员更多的学习机会，也欢迎其他球友参加。

组别： 无积分限制，可以自由组队。所有报名的组，分成四队一组，分组循环赛，前二名进A组，后二名进B组。

每队由最少3名最多5名球员组成。

比赛形式:

分组赛：第一、二场单打，第三、四场双打，第五场抢七。任何一个球员最多打2场比赛，不可以2个单打。赢三场为胜者，该场比赛结束。3局2胜制。

循环赛：第一、二场单打，第三、四场双打，第五至第七场单打。每次比赛都将打满七场。每晚每队可以有3-5名队员参加比赛，任何一个球员每晚最多打3场比赛，2个单打，1个双打，或2个双打，1个单打。2个双打不能是同一个组合。不允许临时替补。

KO阶段：第一、二场单打，第三第四场双打，第五至第七场单打。赢四场为胜者，该场比赛结束。

比赛将在晚上7:00开始。只有一名选手可以晚于晚上7:00到达，但不能晚于8:30。循环赛阶段的比赛顺序可以改变，每队只打一次循环赛。前八支队伍将以KO形式决定前四名。循环赛和ko赛是5局3胜制，11分赛制。ITTF规则和条例适用。每场比赛中，获胜队得2分，失利队得1分，缺席/被取消资格的队得0分。比赛球蝴蝶R40+俱乐部提供。

Participants:

All elderly table tennis enthusiasts over 60 years old in Canada (doubles can have one person under 60, but not less than 50 years old.)

Competition Event:

Men’s singles,
women’s singles,
men’s doubles,
mixed doubles.

Each player can only apply for two categories at the same time.

Rules of the game:

The first round of men’s singles, women’s singles and doubles is round-robin, with 4 people in each group (or 4 teams). The top two in each group entered the knockout stage, deciding the champion, runner-up, third, and fourth place.

Each set adopts a five-game three-win system. Each game has an 11-point system. After 10 points, the winner must get 2 points difference first.

October 14 (Saturday) 9:00 am-2:00 pm Men’s singles

October 15 (Sunday) 9:00 am-2:00 pm Women’s singles

October 22 (Sunday) 9:00 am-2:00 pm Men’s Doubles

October 23 (Monday) 9:00 am-2:00 pm Mixed Doubles

Registration:

Registration is free for those over the age of 60, the registration fee for those under the age of 60 is $20 per item and $30 for two items.

Please indicate your Rating when registering.

Precautions:

1. All contestants must submit a disclaimer.
2. Contestants must obey the venue and schedule. Please wear indoor sneakers to enter the stadium.
3. The players participating in the competition take all their belongings after the competition. Please do not leave garbage.

Reward Measures:

There will be prizes for champions, runners-up, third runners-up, and fourth places, and several commemorative awards in each competition.
Champion: $150 in prize money and medal

• Four players: 7000 or below.
• The total of five players must not exceed 7800.
• Only one player with a rating of 2500 or below is allowed

Division B Rating:

• Three players: 3800 or below.
• Four players: 4600 or below.
• The total of five players must not exceed 5300.
• The rating of each player must be 1600 or below.

 Division C rating:

• Three players: 1700 or below.
• Four players: 2300 or below.
• The total of five players must be 2800 or below.
• The rating of each player must be 800 or below.

Players under the age of 13 can participate with the approval of the organizing committee.

Butterfly 40+(white) international competition standard table tennis balls will be used in this event, provided by the Club.

Prizes and Awards: The champion team receives one trophy, and the top four teams are awarded medals. Round robin stage only has prize money.

During the round-robin stage, the following cash prizes will be awarded: 

• Division A: 1st place – $400, 2nd place – $300, 3rd place – $150, 4th place – $100 
• Division B: 1st place – $300, 2nd place – $200, 3rd place – $100, 4th place – $60
• Division C: 1st place – $200, 2nd place – $120, 3rd place – $80, 4th place – $50

 During the knockout stage, the following cash prizes will be awarded: 

• Division A: 1st place – $600, 2nd place – $400, 3rd place – $230, 4th place – $100 
• Division B: 1st place – $400, 2nd place – $300, 3rd place – $150, 4th place – $100
• Division C: 1st place – $300, 2nd place – $200, 3rd place – $100, 4th place – $60 

Competition Schedule: The House League starts on Aug 1, 2023 with Division B at Tuesday evenings 7-10 pm., on Aug 3, 2023 with Division A at Thursday evenings 7-10 pm, and on Aug 6, 2023 with Division C at Sunday evenings 6:00-9:00 pm.

Format:

• Round-robin stage: First and second matches are singles, the third and fourth matches are doubles, and the fifth to seventh are singles. Each team must complete all seven matches.
• Knockout stage: The first and the second matches are singles, the third and the fourth matches are doubles, and the fifth to the seventh are singles. The winner is determined by winning four matches, and the game ends at that point. 

The first match will start at the scheduled time. Any player who arrives over 30 mins after the start of the game, the team will be disqualified. In each match, the winning team scores two points, the losing team scores one point, and the team that is absentee/disqualified scores zero points.

The top eight teams in the round-robin will compete in the knockout stage to determine the top four. All matches are best of 5 games with the first player winning 3 games, using the 11-point scoring system. ITTF rules and regulations apply. 

Fees: Division A: $80 per player， B: $60 per player， C: $50 per player 

Deadline: Each division can have a maximum of 12 teams. Please submit online or the signed registration (paper) form and full payment before 9:00 PM on July 30, 2023 (Sunday). 

Applicants must agree to the following conditions:

• I agree to abide by all decisions of the Sunny Club 2023 House League Organizing Committee, the Ontario Table Tennis Association, and the Canadian Table Tennis Association. I will submit a waiver of liability. I take full responsibility for any injuries or property damage incurred during the tournament.
• Holidays will proceed as scheduled, and the organising committee reserves the right to make changes in case of special circumstances such as weather conditions. 
• Prize amounts are based on a maximum of 12 teams per division. If the number of teams is insufficient, the organising committee has the right to make adjustments based on registration.

2023 阳光乒乓球联赛

资格：联赛对阳光俱乐部所有会员开放。为了给会员更多的学习机会，也欢迎其他球友参加。

积分：使用OTTA评分。对于没有积分的球员，由阳光俱乐部2023联赛组委会评估。

组成：每队由3至5名球员组成，每个人一晚最多打三场，但一位队员每晚不可打三个单打 。每晚每队可以有3-5名队员参加比赛。不允许临时替补。A 组人员不可以参加 B 组或 C 组 比赛，阳光会员可以参加两个组别限B和C组。

A组评分标准：三人5800或以下，四人7000或以下。五人总分不超过7800。 仅限 一名2500分或以下的球员。

B组评分标准：三人3800或以下，四人4600或以下。五人总分不超过5300。每位选手分数需在1600或以下。 

C组评分标准：三人2000或以下，四人2600或以下。五名3200或以下。每位选手在800或 以下。

13岁以下的球员可以在组委会同意下参赛。此活动使用蝴蝶品牌的国际比赛标准乒乓球40+白色，由俱乐部提供。

奖金和奖品

冠军队有一枚奖杯，前四名每人有奖牌，循环赛只有奖金，淘汰赛有奖金、奖杯、奖牌。

比赛时间：联赛从2023年8月1日正式開始賽事：B組：星期二晚上7:00到10:00; 2023年8月3日A组：星期四晚上7:00到10:00, B組：星期二晚上7:00到10:00; 2023年8月6日C組：星期日晚上6:00到9:00

形式:

循环赛：第一、二场单打，第三、四双打，第五-七单打。每场比赛都必须打满七场。

淘汰赛阶段：第一、二场单打，第三第四场双打，第五至第七场单打。赢四场为胜方，该场比赛结束。

比赛准时开始，比赛开始满半小时不够三人的队视为弃权。在每场比赛中，胜方得两分，负方得一分，弃权方得零分。

循环赛前八名进入淘汰赛决定前四名。所有的比赛都是5局3胜制，11分赛制。ITTF规则和条例适用。

费用: A組每位队员$80；B組：每位队员$60；C組每位队员$50。 

报名者需同意以下条件：

1.我同意遵守阳光俱乐部2023联赛组委会、安大略省乒乓球协会和加拿大乒乓球协会的相关决定。我同意提交参赛免责书，自行承担因参加比赛而造成的任何伤害或财产损失的全部责任。

2.节假日照常进行，如有特殊情况例如天气原因组委会有权变更。

3.奖金额度是基于每级12个队为基数，如不够数量组委会有权按照报名情况作调整。
